The site is located very close to Bristol Airport and is ideally situated for short, overnight  stay, accommodation. Guests can walk to and from the airport.

The site was formerly occupied by a disused Victorian school house and associated prefabricated classrooms. In accordance with the North Somerset green belt planning policy, the mass of these buildings was a major parameter in developing the hotel scheme.

Originally envisaged as being constructed from shipping containers, financing requirements resulted in a change to timber framed construction. The massing and form of the original scheme were retained.
